Parish Kilkerrin (or Kilkerran), County Galway.  

The first known members of this family were Thomas J. Coogan,
John Coogan, James Coogan and Patrick Coogan.  Thomas emigrated to
the United States and settled in Chicago (Cook County), Illinois.

This family could be related to the other families from Shankill.
